PREREQUISITE

The participant must master basic focused heart ultrasosonography.

THEORETICAL PART

The theoretical course consists of 9 hours of online course.

Content of the online course
. Doppler techniques
. Assessment of systolic left ventricular function
. Assessment of the segmental kinetics of the left ventricle
. Assessment of right ventricular function
. Estimation of cardiac output
. Estimation of pulmonary arterial pressure
. Estimation of right atrial pressure
. Estimation of left atrial pressure
. Preload-dependency assessment
. Pericardial effusion and tamponade
. Pericardiocentesis
. Massive pulmonary embolism
. Significant heart valve diseases
. Obstructive cardiomyopathy and CMO effect

PRACTICAL PART

The practical session consists of 8 hours of Hands-on lessons with volunteers.
An instructor is in charge of 4 participants.

Welcome and introduction
Doppler techniques
Assessment of LV function and wall kinetics
Assessment of RV systolic function
Semi-quantitative estimation of cardiac output
Semi-quantitative estimation of pulmonary arterial pressure
Estimation of left atrial pressure
Preload-dependence
Pericardiocentesis
Conclusion

A certificate is distributed at the end of the course for theoretical and practical teaching.

REGISTRATION FEE

150 Frs for online advanced course and 500 Frs for hands-on session (includes instructors and healthy volunteers remuneration, logistics costs, material depreciation). Online heart advanced course or equivalent is a prerequisite for the practical course.
